Tooth Implants in Sherwood & Canby
Permanently Restore Missing & Damaged Teeth
What Is a Tooth Implant?
Are you missing one or more teeth? A tooth implant is the best way to replace missing teeth and is made up of three main parts:
- The first part is the placement of the implant which supports the final restoration and acts as your tooth’s root.
- The second part is known as an abutment. The abutment is the piece that connects your implant to the third phase of the process which is the final restoration.
- The final restoration is going to be a crown, bridge or denture depending on what you and Dr. Cary decide is the best course for you and your dental health.
As a Diplomate, American Board of Oral Implantology/Implant Dentistry, Dr. Cary is a leading provider of tooth implants in Sherwood and Canby. Talk to us today and find out how an implant will not only enhance the look of your smile, but improve your overall oral health.
Who Can Benefit from Tooth Implants?
A dental implant is an excellent way to retain your dental health. If you are dealing with any of the following issues, a tooth implant could be the first step towards a full recovery:
- Missing tooth
- Severely decayed teeth
- Broken or cracked teeth
Implant Restoration Options
Depending on your situation and health background, we will recommend a unique solution for you.
Single Tooth Dental Implant Restoration
A single tooth implant is exactly what it sounds like. A missing tooth is replaced by a dental implant and then a new crown. Depending on the number of teeth missing, a single tooth implant can be used in conjunction with additional single implants to replace several teeth. A natural-looking restoration such as a dental crown is placed over the implant to restore your smile. This is the most common implant restoration as well as most predictable.
All-On-Four or All-On-X Dental Implant Restorations
An option to replace all your teeth on the upper or lower arch. This option can support removable or fixed restorations. In most cases, we will recommend more than 4 dental implants. We have found 4-5 dental implants are minimum for lower teeth and 6-8 dental implants are minimum for upper teeth. A great option to replace all your teeth without worrying about a removable denture.
Implant Supported Denture Restoration
This is a great option to support conventional dentures. An attachment on the denture allows it to “snap” onto the implant, keeping it secured in place. This restoration is a preferable option to traditional dentures when a fixed option, like All-On-X, is not possible.
Same-Day Dental Implants
Same-day dental implants are a great option for patients with no bone loss and who meet specific health criteria, such as excellent health, ideal bone quantity and bone density. Same day implants are similar to other dental implants with the exception that a provisional (temporary) restoration is placed the same day.

Cary Dental’s Implant Process
Here is what you might expect during implant treatment:
- Thorough evaluation of your smile, mouth, bite, and jawbone.
- To prevent bone loss or replace bone already lost, bone grafts will be necessary for the success of the implant.
- A biocompatible implant is placed in the jawbone and allowed to heal.
- A high-tech, tooth-colored dental restoration is then placed over the implant(s).
- For some people with bone loss, additional bone can be added to improve the treatment.
Throughout the entire procedure, we will make sure you are completely comfortable and feel good about the course of your oral health.
